Process statement
A few years ago l purchased a primitive Holga camera and began this current project. The camera’s unpredictability, its primitive and unrefined results challenged me to be spontaneous, accidental and intuitive.
The camera allows me to compose personal narratives in camera from multiple images by having a manual winder. Shooting continuous frames on one strip of 120 film enables me to create a cinematic journey.
I develop the film, then contact print it using the platinum / palladium process on Arches Platine paper. I then scan the film to print enlarged platinum as well as large-scale pigment prints on Hahnemuhle 100% cotton rag papers.
Each of the series is available in limited editions.
