memory and imagination...

the past and the present ...

establishing a dialogue between man and nature

and its conseqences

My projects chronicle dualities... the relationship between the natural world and the man made environment. There is a powerful dynamic between these two forces that I like to explore. The man made objects introduce added dimensionality to the rhythm and pace of the landscape. They reinforce the mystery and ambiguity that is present within the land, the beauty and chaos that is always in flux.

Chance and serendipity plays an important role in how I work. I explore the notion of time passing, changes in light, the continuity of repetition. It is a dialogue that is both fragmented and animated. By breaking up spaces and disregarding linearity ,I am shifting both perception and perspective. The visual disjunction, obstruction and repetition dissolves and blurs the viewers assumptions about space, time and place.
